The Ravenhorn Fieldcrest™ Seax Knife combines a 10-inch 1040 carbon-steel blade with a natural horn handle, steel accents, and a hand-sewn leather scabbard.

Measuring approximately 16 inches overall, this historically inspired fixed-blade knife offers balanced proportions between compact seax designs and larger long seax styles. The natural horn handle gives each piece its own pattern, tone, and character.

Each knife is individually hand-finished. Natural variation in horn, leather color, and blade finish is expected.

Carbon-Steel Blade Details

The single-edged blade measures approximately 10 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. It is made from 1040 carbon steel with a specified hardness of approximately 58–60 HRC.

Its compact long-blade proportions create a distinctive profile for collectors, historical-inspired knife enthusiasts, and outdoor gear collections.

Carbon steel requires regular care. Keep the blade clean and dry after handling, then apply a thin coat of knife-safe oil before longer storage.

Natural Horn Handle and Steel Fittings

Natural horn is the defining feature of the Ravenhorn Fieldcrest™ handle. Unlike synthetic handle materials, real horn can vary in color, pattern, tone, and surface character. These differences make every handle visually individual.

Steel accents and a steel end cap complement the dark natural horn and give the knife a clean, traditional finish.

Hand-Sewn Leather Scabbard

A hand-sewn leather scabbard is included with the Ravenhorn Fieldcrest™ Seax Knife.

Before placing the knife inside, make sure the carbon-steel blade is clean and completely dry. Leather can retain moisture, so a damp blade should not be left inside the scabbard for extended periods.
